Benefits Consulting Services (HR)

We're seeking individuals that can provide comprehensive Benefits Consulting Services for approximately 250 full-time employees. The primary objective is to develop and maintain a competitive benefits program that attracts and retains employees while remaining fiscally responsible and adaptable to changing regulations. This position would be for an initial term of two (2) years, with the possibility of three (3) one-year renewal periods. The position is based in the Southern Virginia (Roanoke) area but is 100% remote with the potential for occasional trips to the client’s site.

Duties include: 

1. Strategic Benefit Management

  • Design and Evaluation: Assisting with benefit plan design, bidding, and evaluation of alternative financing mechanisms such as employee contributions.

  • Market Analysis: Identifying appropriate markets and analyzing vendor proposals, including voluntary benefits, based on client's criteria.

  • Performance Tracking: Providing quarterly progress reports and analyzing plan performance, specifically comparing premiums against claims.

2. Compliance and Legislative Guidance

  • Regulatory Maintenance: Reviewing benefit programs on a continuing basis to ensure compliance with government regulations.

  • Expert Consultation: Providing guidance on major mandates such as PPACA, HIPAA, ADA, and USERRA.

  • Reporting Support: Filing required regulatory forms with the IRS or other agencies as necessary.

3. Operational Support

  • Contractual Assistance: Drafting and reviewing RFPs, advising on contract negotiations and renewals, and ensuring the accuracy of coverage terms.

  • Budgeting: Providing renewal rate estimates and helping client's staff prepare budget and expenditure projections.

  • Claim Resolution: Assisting with the resolution of specific claims when requested.

4. Communication and Wellness

  • Employee Outreach: Developing required plan communications for annual enrollment and providing resources like a benefit website, videos, and booklets for employees.

  • Health Initiatives: Providing compliance and wellness newsletters and developing health consumerism initiatives.

Strategic Communications Support – Emergency
Communications (Exec Mgmt)

We're seeking individuals that can provide the following: Strategic Assessment & Planning (Lead), Government Relations Support, Strategic Communications, and Issues Management/Crisis Communication.

The term of this contract will be two (2) years with a one (1) year renewal option. The position is based in the Richmond, VA area but is 100% remote with the potential for occasional trips to the client’s site.

We’re hiring for a university partner. While higher education experience is preferred, we value the power of transferable skills. If you have the expertise, regardless of your industry background, let’s talk. 

 

Duties include: 


1. Strategic assessment and planning, including:

  • Analysis of the political and regulatory landscape

  • Identify risks and opportunities

  • Development of a comprehensive strategic plan that targets audiences, evaluates policy issues, develops a messaging framework, enacts an implementation process and determines evaluation metrics

2. Government Relations Support

  • Develop policy briefs and talking points

  • Provide issue tracking and analysis

  • Advise on an engagement strategy

  • Prepare leadership for public messaging

3. Strategic Communications

  • Develop key messages in support of institutional objectives

  • Draft press materials (including op-eds and statements)

  • Create a social media messaging strategy

  • Develop a crisis communications plan

  • Support leadership messaging

4. Issues Management/Crisis Communications

  • Monitor issue development

  • Provide real-time communications guidance

  • Support rapid response communications

  • Coordinate messaging for internal and external audiences
